Web cookies
Cookies are small text files that websites store on a user’s computer. The information in cookies can also be used to track your browsing across different websites that use the same cookie.
Websites use intelligent and useful techniques to make them more user-friendly and to maximise the experience for every visitor. Cookies are among the most well-known techniques. Cookies can be used by website owners or by third parties – such as advertisers who communicate through the websites you visit. Cookies are classified according to their persistence and who sets them.
We consider it very important that you are informed about the cookies used by our website and the purposes for which they are used. There are two purposes. We want to protect your privacy and ensure user-friendliness. In the explanation below you will learn more about the cookies used on and through our website and their purposes.
How the website apartmaji-tonkli.si uses cookies
The website apartmaji-tonkli.si uses cookies to collect anonymous data but without identifying the user. We do not collect or store visitor data.
Cookies and their functionality
Different types of cookies serve different purposes. The following are descriptions of the most common types of cookies and their purposes.
Session cookies
A session cookie is temporarily stored in your computer’s memory while you are browsing the website, for example to remember which language you have chosen. Session cookies are not stored on your computer for long periods of time, but disappear as soon as you close your web browser.
Persistent or tracking cookies
A persistent cookie stores a file on your computer for a longer period of time; this type of cookie has a set expiry date. Persistent cookies help websites to recall your information and preferences the next time you visit. This makes it quicker and easier for you to access the website, for example, because you don’t have to log in again.
After the expiry date, the cookie is automatically deleted as soon as you return to the website that created it.
First-party cookies
These are cookies set by the website itself (the domain indicated in the browser address bar) and which can only be read by that website. These cookies are usually used to store information, such as your favourites, for repeat visits to the website.
Third party cookies
These are cookies set by domains other than the domain listed in the browser address bar, i.e. other organisations, not the website owner. Third party cookies include, for example, cookies used to collect data for advertising and content personalisation, as well as for web statistics. Because third-party cookies allow a broader view of a user’s browsing habits, they are considered more sensitive from a privacy perspective, which is why most web browsers also allow you to adjust your settings so that your computer does not accept third-party cookies. The apartments-tonkli.si website does not use third party cookies.
Flash cookies
Flash cookies (locally shared cookies) are units of data that websites using Adobe Flash can store on your computer. Flash cookies are a new technique that allows us to track your movements and store much more information about you than conventional cookies. One of the main disadvantages of flash cookies is that you cannot find them in your browser. They are not listed in the list of cookies currently stored in your web browser, which you can view. Normal HTTP cookies cannot store more than 4 kB of data, whereas flash cookies can store up to 100 kB. Flash cookies are technically designed in a similar way to normal cookies. Almost all web browsers contain a Flash player, which is used to display Flash presentations. Well-known Flash presentations include, for example, the video player on the YouTube video site. (Flash cookies are not limited to YouTube, but appear on all websites that use Flash cookies.) Flash cookies do not have a limited validity period. They stay where they are until they are deleted.
What we use flash cookies for
Flash cookies are used to collect statistics and set your favourite audio selections.
How to disable flash cookies
Flash cookies cannot be blocked or managed like regular cookies in a web browser, as they are stored elsewhere in the Global Storage Settings panel of the Online Settings Manager on the Adobe website. You can open the Settings Manager from the Adobe website, but it runs locally on your computer. Global Storage Settings shows all flash cookies currently stored on your computer. You can delete flash cookies from individual pages or all at once. You can also increase or decrease the amount of data, in kilobytes, that is stored on your computer. If you enter your global storage settings and disable the option “Allow third-party Flash content to store data on your computer”, no Flash cookies will be stored. If you wish to opt out of Flash cookies on a page-by-page basis, please do so in the Settings Manager.
If you disable flash cookies, we cannot guarantee that all features of our website will work as intended.
